AreaTemps-Inc. is Hiring a Production Manager (FT) Near Avon, OH

A manufacturing company is seeking a Production Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for day-to-day strategies and will oversee all production activities, supervise, motivate, and support the staff, maintain open communication, plan and schedule personnel and equipment, and work hand-in-hand with scheduling and the other departments to achieve the production goals. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Job Duties:
  • Manage team according to company core values and direct and prioritize day-to-day tasks
  • Plan and execute production schedule, activity on the production floor, and collaborate with team members on all shifts 
  • Interview, hire, and train employees, plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems
  • Help with the training of operators by working with Supervisors and maintaining a culture of Lean Management Principles
  • Maintain daily metrics including sales, up-time, on-time, scrap rate, and schedule attainment and downtime reporting
  • Collect the information and recommendations from the daily production activities to discuss and resolve production concerns
  • Analyze and update production processes and the efficient use of labor to be safer, simpler, and more economical
  • Investigate inventory movement and tracking to provide solutions and improve clarity within the system
  • Support the needs of the supervisors, oversee the layout of the production workflow, labor allocation, packaging, safety requirements, and identify the improvement needs for on-going production efficiency that meets the critical customer requirements
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering and/or 2 years of experience in heavy manufacturing environment; or Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have 5 years management experience in manufacturing, Multi-Products, and Lean Manufacturing 
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, write routine reports, and correspondence
  • Must be able to lead strategic projects, have knowledge of management equipment, production processes, systems, and tools
  • Material requirement planning, material flow and management, and supply chain tools and processes
  • Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Must be able to calculate figures and amounts; Discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, as well as, applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems, solve problems, and think analytically
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office, Inventory, Internet, and Database Software
  • Must have strong organizational, time, and project management skills
  • Must be customer focused, willing to learn, and work in a team environment
  • Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
